PENEUF was established in 2003 by myself, Rich Phaneuf, after years of making gifts for friends and family. I have been making and selling fine wooden writing implements and other hand-turned wood products at affordable prices ever since. Sold mostly at craft shows, my wife helps with the business side.
Over 125 different woods and burls are used from around the world. Approximately 40 are native to North America. Some of the exotic woods used can reach $300 a board foot. My favorite part is looking for the different woods. I recently started dying and stabilizing wood so there are more options to make products out of. I make over 40 different styles of ball point and fountain pens as well as bottle stoppers, seam rippers, razors, letter openers, magnifying glasses, coffee scoops, bottle openers, and key chains.
